What Is Evenity?

Evenity (romosozumab-aqqg) is prescribed for the treatment of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women who are at high risk for fracture or who cannot use another osteoporosis medication, or for who other medications did not work well. Evenity not only helps prevent further bone loss but also stimulates the formation of new bone.

Evenity is injected subcutaneously by a healthcare professional twice per month for a period of twelve months. Each biweekly dose consists of two injections. Patients may be instructed to take calcium and Vitamin D supplements while receiving Evenity.

What Does Simplefill Provide?

Osteoporosis is the clinical term for progressive bone loss. About 50% of all postmenopausal women will experience a bone fracture at some point due to osteoporosis. Bone fractures in older people can result in the loss of mobility and independence and are a major concern for postmenopausal women. Left untreated, osteoporosis can result in serious quality of life issues.

With the list price of Evenity at more than $2,200 per month, paying for it can also be a major concern, even for those with prescription coverage. Not every insurance plan covers Evenity, and even those that do can leave patients with high out-of-pocket costs.

Fortunately, many patients for whom Evenity might otherwise be unaffordable may qualify for an Evenity patient assistance program. But many eligible patients aren’t even aware of the existence of patient assistance programs. That’s why we have made it our mission to raise awareness of the availability of patient assistance programs and serve as a bridge between those who need patient assistance and the programs offering it.

How Does Evenity Work?

Osteoblasts are cells that secrete the matrix for bone formation. Osteocytes are bone cells. An osteocyte is formed when an osteoblast becomes embedded in the matrix it has secreted.

Osteocytes secrete a glycoprotein called sclerostin, which interrupts the signaling process in osteoblasts that is essential to bone formation. Interrupting that signaling also increases bone resorption by osteoclasts.

Evenity is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets sclerostin, binding and inhibiting it, which increases the formation of new bone and decreases bone resorption.

How to Get Evenity Prescription Assistance

We’ve made it as easy as possible for people seeking help with the cost of their Evenity prescription to get the process started. There are only two things you’ll need to do up front. After that, we’ll do all the heavy lifting.

  • First, apply to become a Simplefill member, either online or by calling us at 1(877)386-0206.
  • Second, take part in a brief telephone intake interview with one of our patient advocates.

That’s all there is to it. We’ll handle the rest.

We’ll build your Simplefill member profile using your responses to the questions asked during your intake interview. Your profile will provide the basis for us to identify the best Evenity patient assistance programs to apply for on your behalf. And when you’re approved, we’ll go ahead and get you enrolled.

You might think our work is done once you begin receiving patient assistance for your Evenity prescription, but that’s not the case. We will continue monitoring your situation and ensure you receive your medication on schedule, with no interruptions. And when you notify us of changes in your life—specifically in your medical condition, income, or insurance status—we’ll update your profile accordingly. And if your healthcare providers add any new medications to your regimen, we’ll find you some help to pay for them, too.

Enroll with Simplefill today, and you’ll soon pay much less for your Evenity prescription.
