What is Combigan?

Combigan is a combination of two medications—brimonidine tartrate and timolol. Combigan is administered in the form of eye drops for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Combining these two effective medications in one formulation reduces the number of drops, which reduces the patient’s exposure to the preservatives all eye drops contain.

Open-angle glaucoma develops slowly and may not produce recognizable symptoms for several years. You could have it now and not know it unless you are having your eyes checked regularly. Early detection and treatment can prevent the loss of vision or total blindness that can result from undiagnosed open-angle glaucoma if the elevated pressure damages the optic nerve connecting the eye to the brain.

Ocular hypertension is less serious than open-angle glaucoma because no visual field loss or damage to the optic nerve has occurred. But left untreated, ocular hypertension carries an increased risk of developing glaucoma.

What does Simplefill Provide?

Simplefill offers its members relief from the financial stress of having to pay for their Combigan. It’s important to maintain a steady supply of Combigan and use the drops regularly to keep IOP down and avoid damage to the optic nerve. SImplefill’s members know they don’t have to worry about any interruptions in their supply of Combigan.

How Does Combigan Work?

Brimonidine is an adrenergic agonist and timolol is an adrenergic blocker. Both brimonidine and timolol work by decreasing the production of aqueous humor, the clear liquid that fills the space between the lens and the cornea and provides nutrition to the eye. Brimonidine also increases the drainage of aqueous humor, which also helps decrease the pressure in the eye.
