What Gilead Patient Assistance Is Available?

There are two programs available to those who need assistance paying for Gilead medications:

  • Gilead Advancing Access Patient Assistance Program, for uninsured patients and certain others that meet the program’s eligibility requirements, and the
  • Gilead Advancing Access Co-Pay Coupon Card for patient with commercial insurance who need help paying out-of-pocket costs for Gilead medications.

While the Advancing Access Patient Assistance Program provides qualified individuals with Gilead medications entirely free of charge, the Advancing Access Co-Pay Coupon Card is used in conjunction with the patient’s commercial insurance to cover co-pays. The card cannot be used in conjunction with Medicaid, Medicare, or any other government health insurance plan.

The Gilead medications for which patient assistance is available are all antiviral medications used in the treatment and prevention of HIV-1/AIDS. They include:

  • Biktarvy
  • Complera
  • Descovy
  • Emtriva
  • Genvoya
  • Odefsey
  • Stribild
  • Truvada
  • Tybost
  • Veklury
  • Vemlidy
  • Viread

What Does Simplefill Provide?

Simplefill provides a gateway to prescription assistance for people who cannot afford the medications they need to keep their HIV-1/AIDS under control and prevent spreading the virus to others. Having access to such medications can make the difference between living with the virus, often at a level that is undetectable in the blood, and potentially life-threatening disease progression. There is simply too much at stake for money to be the deciding factor. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to raise awareness of the existence of patient assistance programs like Advancing Access and helping people connect with them.

How does Gilead Patient Assistance Work?

To be eligible to receive medications free of cost from the Gilead Advancing Access Patient Assistance Program, you must:

  • Be a U.S. resident
  • Have a prescription from a U.S.-licensed health care provider for a Gilead medication covered by the program
  • Have a total household income below the program limits for the number of household members
  • Have no prescription drug coverage through private insurance or a government program

How to Get Prescription Assistance

The first step on the journey to receiving the patient assistance you need is to become a Simplefill member. All that requires is for you to fill out an online application or call us at (877)386-0206. It shouldn’t be more than a few hours before you’ll get a call from one of our patient advocates asking you to participate in a telephone interview about your current financial and medical situations and your prescription assistance needs.

Your information you provide during that interview will be used to establish your Simplefill member profile, which will allow us to determine whether you qualify for patient assistance from Gilead and to identify any other appropriate patient assistance programs.

Getting the help you need takes no effort on your part once you’ve completed the profiling interview. We’ve made the process as easy as possible for our members.  We’ll prepare and submit your applications to the programs you’re eligible for, and when the time comes, we’ll take care of getting you enrolled in the ones that accept you.

From that point on, we’ll monitor your situation to make sure you have an uninterrupted supply of the medications you rely on. And, if your medical team makes any changes to your treatment plan, we’ll update your profile accordingly and connect you with patient assistance for any new prescriptions.
