What Is Rinvoq?
Rinvoq (upadacitinib) is prescribed for children over age 12 and adults for the treatment of five different chronic diseases: eczema, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis. It is referred to as a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD), which is further classified as a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor. It works inside the immune system cells to decrease their activity, reducing inflammation and the symptoms of these five diseases.
Rinvoq tablets come in three strengths: 15 mg, 30 mg, and 45 mg, extended release. It is taken by mouth, once daily, with or without food.
The average retail price of a 30-day supply of Rinvoq is $5,981, depending on which pharmacy you choose. Even with prescription coverage, the copays for Rinvoq can be very high.
Who Is Eligible for a Rinvoq Copay Card?
Rinvoq copay cards, also called savings cards, are available to anyone who:
- Is a resident of the U.S. or Puerto Rico
- Is over the age of 18
- Has a valid prescription for Rinvoq
- Has a commercial health insurance policy that does not pay 100% of the cost of Rinvoq
Anyone who is enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, CHAMPUS, or any other government-funded health insurance program is ineligible for a Rinvoq copay card. Those with Medicare Part A or Part B who also have commercial prescription coverage for Rinvoq may still qualify for copay assistance.
