What Is Eliquis?
Eliquis (apixaban) is prescribed for people with atrial fibrillation to decrease their risk of stroke. It also is prescribed to treat or prevent pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs) or deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in the veins in the legs). Eliquis works by attaching to a blood clotting factor— produced in the liver—a protein called Xa. Eliquis prevents Xa from working, which makes it much less likely that clots will form.
Eliquis comes in tablet form and is taken by mouth twice daily, with or without food. The optimum dosing schedule is 12 hours between doses.
The average retail cash price of a 30-day supply of Eliquis, with no insurance applied, is $620.38.
Who Is Eligible for an Eliquis Discount Card?
To be eligible to receive an Eliquis discount card, you must:
- Be a resident of the U.S. or Puerto Rico
- Be age 18 or older
- Have commercial health insurance that covers Eliquis at less than 100%
Being enrolled in a government-funded insurance program (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, CHAMPUS, Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs insurance, or a similar federal or state-sponsored plan) makes a person ineligible for an Eliquis discount card. There may be an exception for individuals with Medicare Part A or Part B who also have commercial prescription coverage for Eliquis.
How Much Can I Save with an Eliquis Discount Card?
Using an Eliquis discount card at a participating pharmacy can reduce the out-of-pocket cost of your Eliquis prescription to as little as $10 per month for up to 24 months from the date the card is activated. The maximum benefit is $6,400 per year. The first month’s supply consists of up to 74 tablets; each fill after the first month is for up to 60 tablets.
How Can Simplefill Help Me Save on Eliquis?
Simplefill is dedicated to helping Americans, particularly those living with chronic, potentially serious illnesses, who are having trouble paying for the medications they need to take, perhaps indefinitely, to manage their condition. Patients who skip doses or cut their dosage in half to make them stretch farther often do so at great risk to their health. Prescription discount cards are one way we may be able to help.
Patients who have atrial fibrillation are more likely than the average person to have a stroke from blood pooling in the heart due to an erratic heartbeat. Living with an elevated stroke risk is stressful enough, for patients and their families, without the additional financial stress associated with high U.S. prescription costs.
At Simplefill, we have made it our mission to help reduce the stress level and improve the quality of life for patients and their families by finding them the best sources of prescription assistance for costly medications such as Eliquis.
All you need to do to start the process is to apply for Simplefill membership, either online or by calling us at 1(877)386-0206.
Enroll with Simplefill today, and you’ll soon be paying much less out of your own pocket for your Eliquis prescription.
