What is Zavzpret?
Zavzpret (zavegepant) is prescribed for the acute treatment of migraine attacks, with or without aura in adults. It’s not known if Zavzrept is safe and effective in children.
Zavzpret is not indicated for the preventive treatment of migraine. It provides relief from pain, light and sound sensitivity, and nausea, but it will not prevent the onset of migraine attacks.
Zavzpret is delivered through inhalation. It is packaged in single dose vials of 10 mg. The prescribed dosage is one inhalation in only one nostril. It should not be used more than once in a 24-hour period or more than eight times per month.
What Does Simplefill Provide?
Migraine attacks are characterized by a severe, throbbing headache that can vary in intensity and is often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and heightened sensitivity to light and sound. They can be preceded by visual disturbances such as flashing lights or zig-zagging lines, known as an aura. At Simplefill, we understand that migraine headaches severely disrupt daily activities, which could be avoided with an effective treatment. But for many people, the cost of such medications can be beyond what they can afford.
That is why we work hard to raise awareness of patient assistance programs that can drastically lower the cost of prescription medications and help migraine sufferers get back to the business of living. We don’t stop at raising awareness, though. We have made it our mission to connect people who need help paying for essential medications with the programs that can help them.
How Does Zavzpret work?
Zavzpret is the first and only CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide) receptor antagonist nasal spray. It belongs to a class of medications that target CGRP, a protein involved in the transmission of pain signals and inflammation, particularly in migraines. CGRP plays a key role in causing migraine headaches by dilating blood vessels and promoting inflammation and pain transmission. By blocking CGRP receptors, Zavzpret can reduce the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.
