What Abbott Patient Assistance Is Available?
The Abbott Patient Assistance Program is sponsored by the Abbott Patient Assistance Foundation. It provides Abbot medications free of cost to patients who meet the eligibility requirements. Unlike some patient assistance programs, the Abbott Patient Assistance Program does not automatically exclude people who are covered by private insurance or by Medicare, Medicaid or some other government-funded program.
The medications available through the Abbott Patient Assistance Program include several that are used to lower high cholesterol—Advicor, Niaspan, TriCor, and TRILIPIX. Tarka and Teveten are both prescribed to treat high blood pressure.
The following are also available through the Abbott Patient Assistance Program:
- Depakote – an anticonvulsant used in the treatment of seizure disorders and bipolar disorder and to prevent migraine headaches
- Gengraf – an immunosuppressant prescribed to prevent rejection of transplanted organs
- Synthroid – a man-made thyroid hormone used to treat hypothyroidism
What Does Simplefill Provide?
Simplefill aims to improve the quality of life for people requiring a steady supply of costly medications to manage chronic diseases. By raising awareness of the availability of patient assistance and connecting people who need such assistance with the programs that can provide it, we relieve some of the stress and anxiety they experience on a daily basis. We ensure that they can get the medications they need without having to sacrifice other necessities and help make life a little easier for them and their families.
How does Abbott Patient Assistance Work?
To be eligible for help from the Abbott Patient Assistance Program, you must:
- Be a resident of the United States
- Meet Abbott’s guidelines for household income
- Have no health insurance or inadequate prescription coverage
- Have a valid prescription for an eligible Abbott medication written by a U.S.-licensed health care provider
Eligibility for Medicare patients enrolled in Part D prescription coverage will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
How to Get Prescription Assistance
Before we can connect you with the Abbott Prescription Assistance Program or any other source of patient assistance, you’ll need to become a Simplefill member.
