What Otsuka Patient Assistance Is Available?
Patients who are having trouble paying for an Otsuka prescription may be eligible for help from the Otsuka Patient Assistance Foundation (OPAF).
The Otsuka medications for which patient assistance currently is available are:
- Abilify Maintena (prescribed for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and Tourette Syndrome)
- Jynarque (slows the loss of kidney function in adults with ADPKD, a genetic disease resulting in end stage kidney disease)
- Rexulti (used in the treatment of major depressive disorder)
- Samsca (increases low sodium levels due to heart failure and certain hormone imbalances)
A separate application is required for each Otsuka medication.
What does Simplefill Provide?
Simplefill raises awareness of the many sources of patient assistance, such as the Amgen Safety Net Foundation. We then bridge the gap between such programs and the people who need their help. In doing so, we aim to make life a little less stressful for people who already have enough to contend with by living with a chronic illness.
How does Otsuka Patient Assistance Work?
The Otsuka website provides a “Check Eligibility” tool that allows you to see whether you meet the eligibility requirements for any of the four Otsuka medications for which assistance is available. The tool takes into account the specific medication, your insurance status, your household size, and household income.
Those who qualify for the OPAF patient assistance program will receive their Otsuka medication(s) free of charge for 12 months. At the end of each 12-month period, a new application is required.
